Philanthropists Mitch and Kate Plaw have invested heavily in the development of the Takapoto Estate grounds — high-performance sport combined with second-to-none hospitality, for riders and spectators alike. No expense has been spared: the very best arena footing, equipment and facilities for horse and rider, drawing competitors from around New Zealand and Australia.

Shows run throughout the year — the winter events a more informal affair, building toward the annual summer event, the Takapoto Classic; and most recently, the Spring Cups World Cup series. Dates and the day-to-day of the season land first on the showjumping channels.
For spectators, the equestrian events at Takapoto Estate are a great introduction to the world of showjumping, and a chance to experience the estate and everything it has to offer.
