The Takapoto Estate “The Blend” is a beautiful marriage between two renown Central Otago vineyards in Bannockburn and Gibbston. The Gibbston grapes impart Lavender, rose and violet flowers, raspberry, and thyme. This is well paired with the dark cherry, plum, toasted spices and powerful mouthfeel from the Bannockburn vineyard. The blended wine boasts a spicy finish and smooth, silky tannins. Bottled unfined and unfiltered.

“A lifted savoury and varietal bouquet with a mix of dried herbs and roses, plums and cherry flesh, some earthy suggestions of stone and clay. A slightly lighter weight wine touches the palate then fine needle point tannins layer in accentuated by the acid line. Fruit flavours reflect the bouquet with plum and red berry flavours. A youthful wine still that should develop some fine complexity. Best window for drinking is late 2024 through 2029. 92 Points.”
