Takapoto Estate Gibbston Valley Single Vineyard Central Otago Pinot Noir 2016
From a boutique vineyard on the Gibbston Valley plateau, these hand-picked grapes were naturally vinified with as little intervention as possible to retain a true expression from this unique site. Matured in French oak, this wine delivers a floral nose with hints of dried herbs and spice. On the palate, it displays real finesse and understated power. Wild strawberry, raspberry, cherry and a hint of mocha complement the long soft tannins and lingering finish. The 2014 vintage of this wine took out the World’s best Pinot Noir Trophy at the prestigious London International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2018.
