Takapoto’s riders club in the pipeline

There are plenty of reasons to become a member of the Takapoto Riders Club, but perhaps the biggest of all is that it will help to support the future of showjumping at a highperformance level through the soon to be launched Ready to Rise Campaign.

The Club will offer exclusive benefits to its members including early access to show and stable entries, the use (by appointment) of Takapoto Estate for training days, Riders’ Club Hour at the bar . . . with more to follow. There are some exciting plans in the pipeline including a members’ lounge. Membership is through an annual fee, with the first 100 members fees to go directly back into the sport via the Equestrian Sports New Zealand High Performance Jumping Programme.

The Equestrian Sport New Zealand High Performance Jumping Programme was initiated in 2021 and exists only due to the personal generous funding initiative by the Plaw Family. There is currently no funding provided by High Performance Sport New Zealand as New Zealand Show Jumping success at World and Olympic Games does not yet meet the High Performance funding criteria.

At the heart of the High Performance Jumping Programme is the delivery of coaching, off-horse education, competition support and training camps in a safe, high performance environment that will enable horse and human athletes to excel. The Jumping High Performance Programme mirrors the proven Eventing High Performance Programme that has been delivering podium results. The Plaw family are now encouraging others to come forward to make the most of this tipping point of opportunity.
