Frequently asked.
Stables+
Please note you must have a stable or covered yard — horses are not allowed to tie to trucks or floats. You will either have paid for stables, or the horses can stay on the truck or float.
General cleaning+
Our team work to keep the grounds — and in particular the sand arena — tidy and well groomed. This is challenging when manure is left. It holds up classes as our tractor drivers are having to jump in and out to collect it.
Please tidy up after your horse. Please muck out your stables at the end of the show — otherwise cleaning fees may apply.
Commercial photography & media+
Please contact us if you're interested in attending the Winter training days or competition as a photographer: info@takapoto.co.nz
Results+
Results are posted to the event listing on the Equipe App.
Noise control+
Due to our Resource Consent there are to be no truck parties. If you're involved in any truck gathering and noise gets out of control you may be asked to leave the grounds — and you may not be able to compete.
The council have been really strict with us on this, so please help us keep the noise under control.
Phone & internet — One NZ connectivity+
If you're on the One NZ (Vodafone) network you may experience connectivity issues once you arrive at Takapoto Estate. This issue only affects the One NZ network.
Can I enter my pony in a horse competition class?+
Because we're an ESNZ-registered show, you cannot enter your registered pony in a horse competition class. You can however enter your pony in any practice / training day, at any height.
Can you run lower heights?+
Unfortunately we only have two sand arenas and cannot cater for all heights within our show format.
Can you run more pony classes?+
Unfortunately we only have two sand arenas and cannot always cater to both horses and ponies within our show format.
Can I bring my dog?+
As much as we love dogs — as per previous years, this is a dog-free show.
Will there be a live stream?+
There is no live stream for the Winter shows. Beware of Facebook scams and always check our website for official information.
Are we allowed to bring alcohol?+
Under no circumstances can you bring your own alcohol into our licensed area (beyond the truck park). Alcohol will be confiscated as this jeopardises our license — and therefore the entire show.
If you have alcohol in your trucks, it must be consumed in the vehicle.
Payment options+
We run as a cashless show — you'll only be able to pay for things using EFTPOS or a credit card.
Powered site — fees+
You can purchase via the Equipe App: $45 per site.
Shower cards+
You can purchase Shower Cards via Equipe. $40 per card (includes $20 bond).
