Spectator FAQ

You don’t need to be familiar with showjumping to enjoy the Spring Cup events at Takapoto Estate. Event 1 would be the best experience of the two events as it’s the the full spectacle - simply arrive, enjoy free parking, grab a coffee and treats from the café or bar, and explore what’s on offer - including two sand arenas showcasing a range of showjumping classes, an impressive Grass Arena (weather pending), and a Trade Village.
This is also a perfect family outing and if you’re new to Takapoto Estate, it’s a great way to check out what all of the fuss is about, including the beautiful backdrop and expansive manicured lawns.
If wine is your thing, make sure try the wines by Takapoto Estate at the bar.
If you’re serious about spectating, the best idea is to arrive before lunchtime.

Yes - absolutely! There’s a variety of horses and riders attending the Practice Days, including greener horses. The Practice Days are a low-pressure environment to help horses and riders prepare for competition or the summer season ahead. You’ll notice the rider’s standard of dress is more casual also. The cafe will be open, and this still presents a fantastic opportunity to spectate if you’re curious about the sport, or simply want to enjoy an opportunity to visit Takapoto Estate.
-
Under no circumstances can you bring your own alcohol onto our licensed areas. This policy is in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all our patrons and to comply with local laws and regulations.
-
We run as a cashless show, you will only be able to pay for things using Eftpos or a Credit Card.
Entry is FREE for the Spring Cup 2025 shows.
