The Takapoto Estate “The Blend” is a beautiful marriage between two renown Central Otago vineyards in Bannockburn and Gibbston. The Gibbston grapes impart Lavender, rose and violet flowers, raspberry, and thyme. This is well paired with the dark cherry, plum, toasted spices and powerful mouthfeel from the Bannockburn vineyard. The blended wine boasts a spicy finish and smooth, silky tannins. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Region: Central Otago. Vintage: 2020 Percentage Alc: 13.5%
Takapoto Estate Gibbston Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2019 NZ$79.99
Sourced from one of the oldest vineyards in Gibbston, these hand-picked grapes were naturally vinified with minimal intervention to preserve the distinct character of this remarkable site. Matured in French oak, the wine offers a floral nose of lavender, violets, and roses, with subtle notes of thyme, vanilla, leather, and smoke. The palate shows energy and finesse, with forest berries, cranberry, and vanilla layered over bright acidity, soft tannins, and a lingering finish. Region: Central Otago. Vintage: 2020 Percentage Alc: 13%
Takapoto Estate Bannockburn Pinot Noir 2017 NZ$79.99
Planted on historic 19th century goldmines and overlooking the breath-taking Felton Road. These hand-picked grapes are subject to hands-off winemaking, undergoing wild fermentation to capture the terroir of this remarkable vineyard site. Matured in French oak, this wine delivers a full body and complex structure. It is silky smooth on the palate with flavours of black cherry, plum and complimentary savoury notes to give it a lingering finish. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. The 2012 vintage of this wine took out the World’s best Pinot Noir Trophy at the prestigious London International Wine and Spirit Competition (IWSC) in 2017.
