A true burgundy hue of red and ruby leading to a bouquet and palate of complexity and charm, floral scents of rose and wild forest berries. There’s layers of wood spice and nut, lees and traditional berry flavours of cherry and plum then some dried raspberry and more influences of place and oak. Dry, an abundance of polished tannins and plenty of acidity for drive. Lengthy and complex, a wine to watch with best drinking from 2026 through 2032+.

A wine for their two vineyard sources in Bannockburn and Gibbston in Central Otago – now labelled as “The Blend” for this vintage. A bright and bloody burgundy purple colour in the glass. A complex bouquet displays both delicate floral, herb and spice notes alongside more robust cherry, damson, black olive and even tar aromas. Good varietal typicity, and youthful energy. Quite juicy and fresh in the palate – a result of the crisp acidity. There is some barrel toast and fine, supple tannin adding more structure, framing the ripe fruit. Enjoyable now, this is well-made and set up for more development if cellared well.

Beautifully styled and expressed, the wine shows dark plum, thyme, game, and warm spice aromas. It's splendidly weighted on the palate, displaying juicy fruit flavours with spicy nuances, well supported by polished tannins, finishing long and structured. At its best: now to 2030.

This is a thoughtful blend of grapes from two areas in Central Otago; Bannockburn’s Legend Terrace contributes 72% with the cooler-climate Brennan Vineyard in Gibbston offering up 28% of the grapes to this wine. All grapes were destemmed and wild fermented, with extended maceration of seven weeks on skins before pressing. The result is a finely tuned expression of Central Otago Pinot Noir with bright fruit forward red cherry-scented aromas underpinned by a savoury mid palate and a lingering fresh finish.
