Cam Douglas
An engaging bouquet of ripe peach and roasted stone fruits, barrel spices and smoke, baked apple and roasted nut then a grapefruit and nectarine suggestion. Bold, rich and creamy on the palate in a full-bodied expression, fine tannins from fruit and barrel, medium+ ish acid line with a persistent core of flavours and textures. Well made, beginning to develop with best drinking from 2025 through 2029.

This Hawke's Bay Chardonnay features a plush, creamy mouthfeel with bright fruit, elevated by toasty oak and spice, lending a long, rich finish.

A Chardonnay made in the Waikato – at Takapoto’s winery near Lake Karapiro, from grapes harvested at Gimblett Road in Hawke’s Bay. Area medium-density golden colour in the glass, tinged with green. The bouquet is very varietal, with power-packed aromas of peach, lemon, grapefruit, hazelnut, quince and vanilla paste. Led by a keen acidity, the palate shows a decent whack of toasty oak as well, with the ripe fruit coming along for the ride. Bold, unctuous and broad through the palate. Layers of spice, white pepper and citrus pith flavours hint at some lees-influenced ageing (this 2022 is the new/current release). A creamy texture envelops the back palate, with power and presence.

Wine Orbit
Stylish and complex, the engaging bouquet shows white-flesh nectarine, rockmelon, vanillin oak, and oatmeal nuances. It's wonderfully weighted and richly textured in the mouth, delivering excellent depth and persistence. Wonderfully textured with beautifully pitched acidity, finishing impressively long and satisfying. At its best: now to 2032.
