GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Please note you must have as stable or covered yard as horses are not allowed to tie to trucks or floats. You will either have paid for stables, or the horses can stay on the truck/float.

Stables $250 for the duration of the show.

  • There are a limited number of small horse-friendly paddocks available directly across the road from Takapoto Estate. There is also the option to be based there, as there are a limited number of stables near the paddocks.

Each paddock will have a trough and shade trees. There are tall hedges between all paddocks making a safe horse environment.

Paddocks $180 for the duration of the Show.

These will be allocated by Takapoto Estate and priority will be given to competitors traveling from the South Island first, then those who are traveling from afar and those with horses in the young horse classes.

Takapoto Estate’s decision will be final and there will be no negotiations entered into.

  • Our team are working tirelessly to keep the grounds and in particular the sand arena tidy and well groomed. This is challenging when manure is left. It holds up classes as our tractor drivers are having to jump in and out to collect manure. Please tidy up after your horse.

Please muck out your stables at the end of the show otherwise cleaning fees may apply.

  • The Takapoto Classic is managed in partnership with our PR team, who oversee all accredited media and official event photography. Any professional or commercial photography (including the sale of images) is limited to approved photographers only.

Further information about applications will be available soon.

Guests are welcome to take casual, non-commercial photos and videos from ringside areas. We simply ask that you remain outside the competition arenas and respect all signage and steward directions.

  • Results will be posted to our website for the duration of the show.

  • Due to our Resource Consent there is to be no truck parties. If you are involved in any truck gathering and noise gets out of control you may be asked to leave the grounds and you may not be able to compete. Unfortunately council have been really strict with us on this so please help us to keep the noise under control.

  • If you’re on the One NZ (Vodafone) network you may experience connectivity issues once you arrive at Takapoto Estate. This issue only affects the One NZ network.

  • Unfortunately we don’t have the scope to offer dedicated practice arenas at our venue on competition days. We do however offer warmup arenas.

  • Because we’re an ESNZ registered show, you cannot enter your registered pony in a horse competition class.

You can however enter your pony in the practice day at any height.

  • Unfortunately we only have two sand arenas and cannot cater for all heights within our single show format.

  • Unfortunately we only have two sand arenas and cannot cater to both horses and ponies within our single show format.

  • As much as we love dogs, as per previous years, this is a dog free show.

  • Yes - stay posted for more details.

Please be aware of imitation profiles on Facebook advertising fake live streams and scams. For complete assurance, access information here right on our website, or become familiar with our official Facebook business page here.

  • Under no circumstances can you bring your own alcohol in to our licensed area (beyond truck park). Alcohol will be confiscated as this jeopardises our license and therefore the entire show. If you have alcohol in your trucks, it must be consumed in the vehicle.

  • We run as a cashless show, you will only be able to pay for things using Eftpos or a Credit Card.
